We just wrapped up our 11th year of providing our custom mobile attendance tracking solution for the American Film Market (AFM) in Santa Monica, California.  Each November, AFM transforms Santa Monica with eight days of deal‐making on films in every stage of development and production, as well as screenings, conferences, networking and parties.  With attendees and buyers from over 70 countries, reporting is a necessity.

AFM realizes the importance of tracking the who, when, where, etc. and that’s where our solution enters the scene.  Each year, 25-30 2B-EVENTS mobile scanners are distributed to quickly and accurately track and report attendance.  Their staffing agency brings in a crew the day before the market opens for training.  Each person is assigned a screening room and mobile scanner.  They are tasked with scanning the badge of each attendee.  Originally developed by 2B Solutions in 2005, 2B-EVENTS is a crucial part of AFM each year and we value the relationship we’ve built over the years!   The solution consists of a custom Windows Mobile app (software), mobile barcode scanner (hardware), and integration with the AFM registration system.  Combined with a custom report, exhibitors can instantly view which buyers are attending their screening, along with their contact information.  This is when the deal-making really happens!

The business of independent motion picture production and distribution – a truly collaborative process – reaches its peak every year at the American Film Market. Over 8,000 industry leaders converge in Santa Monica for eight days of deal-making, screenings, seminars, networking and parties. Participants come from over 80 countries and include acquisition and development executives, agents, attorneys, directors, distributors, festival directors, financiers, film commissioners, producers, writers, the world’s press all those who provide services to the motion picture industry.  AFM also announced updated screening numbers, with a total of 407 films screening in more than 30 languages including 87 world premieres and 242 market premieres.
